Marbella: A Haven for Digital Nomads in 2024

Embarking on the digital nomad lifestyle has become very popular.  If you are choosing a place to work from, Marbella could be an excellent choice, meeting your needs for exoticism, sunshine and an international, thriving community.

Why Marbella is Popular for Digital Nomads

 Mediterranean Lifestyle

Marbella’s Mediterranean climate, characterized by mild winters and warm summers, provides an idyllic backdrop for the digital nomad lifestyle. Embrace the opportunity to work with a sea breeze and abundant sunshine, creating a perfect work-life balance.

 Connectivity

Marbella’s commitment to digital infrastructure ensures reliable high-speed internet, making it an optimal destination for remote work. It’s also well-placed for both Malaga and Gibraltar airports.

Cultural Riches

Beyond the work environment, Marbella offers a rich cultural tapestry, from historic sites to vibrant culinary experiences. Centro House complements this lifestyle by fostering a sense of community, providing a space where digital nomads can collaborate and share experiences.

What to Consider when Moving to Marbella as a Digital Nomad:

  1. Visas: Spain’s Digital Nomad Visa:

Spain has now opened up its sunny doors to remote workers, with a digital nomad visa. To qualify, the applicant’s company must be located outside Spain and income received in Spain or from Spanish companies should not be more than 20% of total income.  The applicant should have proof of at least 3 months working in a company with a minimum of 1 year of activity and you will also need company certification that teleworking for your position is authorized. On the whole, you will need at least 3-years experience or professional training, such as being a graduate or post graduate from prestigious university or business school.

Our advice is to get professional advice and apply for your visa in good time before moving to Marbella.

  1. How to Find Accommodation in Marbella

Before you arrive, take the leap with short term rentals, such as an Airbnb or why not rent one of our rooms at Centro House? Available for nightly stays, our four bedrooms give you the perfect work/life balance, waking up to pool views.

Once you have found your bearings, look for longer term accommodation by contacting local agents. Areas you may wish to explore include Marbella old town, Nueva Andalucia and San Pedro de Alcantara.

  1. How to Integrate into Marbella’s Business Community

Arguably, one of the most important parts of your stay in Marbella as a digital nomad will be your ability to foster new contacts. Join one of Marbella’s networking groups or co working spaces such as Centro house, where you will be sure to meet like-minded entrepreneurs.

Marbella is not just a holiday destination; it’s a gateway to a vibrant digital nomad community in the heart of the Costa del Sol.  Redefine your vision of a working day by spending days on the beach or in a plush office in Marbella.
