Are you taking on too much?
For some of us it’s easy to stay focused; we just set tight boundaries from the start. For others, not so much. Do you find yourself saying yes to things that won’t necessarily move you closer to your goals? Here’s 8 ways you can do less, but achieve more.
#1 Learn the word No!
Be firm, say no! Channel that unapproachable person in the office if you need to, it will pay off in the end!
#2 Be clear about your Goals and Vision
Founder of Centro House, Ryan Howsam has a system for achieving maximum success in all areas of life, 90 Days. How? You always start with a vision in every area of your life. Only when you really know where you want to get to can you make steps toward it!
#3 Make the Bed! (Yes, really.)
Or, any type of morning routine that gets you up and organised in the morning will pay off. There are countless books about it, like this one, helpfully titled “Make your Bed” by William H. McRaven. No he’s not an interior designer, rather he has the solution to your lack of motivation.
#4 Understand When you are at your Most Productive
Again, countless studies show we have different natural rhythms, find out when you are at your best whether it’s first thing in the morning or evening and work with it.
#5 Organise Tasks by what Matters
So you have a long to do list? The 90 Days system helps you organise all your tasks around Objective and Key Results so you know you won’t be wasting time on things that don’t make a difference.
#6 Be Strict!
Once you have your task list, there may be things on there that just don’t add any value, so ask yourself, do I really need to do this?
#7 Make Yourself a Priority
Me time, that precious concept: Make time for yourself and your wellbeing, it could be as simple as an exercise programme or even spiritual enlightenment, but in any case do not neglect yourself.
#8 Outsource, Outsource, Outsource!
This could be renamed as “delegate, delegate, delegate!” Don’t do it all yourself, find ways to scale at pace.
