MARBELLA FOR BUSINESS

Why Is Marbella a Popular Business Destination?

In recent years, Marbella has become more popular for businesses, both those located here and those who may have an office in Spain, or base themselves here remotely for some of the year. There are a number of reasons for this, but chief among them is the city’s dedication to growth, creating an environment that is conducive to development and one that is very welcoming to international businesses. The Malaga province in the south of Spain has raised its profile over the past ten years as a thriving hub. With an expansive array of coworking spaces and numerous business incubators and accelerators, it is also attracting large tech firms.

We explore the reasons why Marbella is becoming the destination of choice for new businesses.

Business Networking in Marbella

There are several networking groups in the area, not least the CIT Marbella, an organisation dedicated to supporting and fostering contacts between companies in the Marbella area. The CIT hosts monthly meet ups. lunches and more events for networking and creates synergies between its numerous members. Pictured here are just some of its members at the latest networking event in September 2022 held at Magna Golf. (Spot Centro House there too!)

Marbella: A Perfect Business Location and Climate

One of the most important factors in any business decision is location. And when it comes to setting the scene, Marbella has a lot to offer. The city is situated on Spain’s sunny Costa del Sol, providing businesses with easy access to both European and African markets. Marbella is also within close proximity to two major airports, making it a convenient destination for both domestic and international travellers.  What’s more, we all know that the sun puts us in a good mood. It’s an extremely welcoming climate, city and those who move here for work enjoy the beaches and lifestyle.

Non Resident Workers in Marbella: Digital Nomads

Marbella lends itself perfectly to the digital nomad. After all, there are over 27km of coastline to take your laptop around! Here, the outdoor lifestyle is available for most of the year so those who work remotely can compliment their hard work with golf, swimming in the sea, racket sports like padel and hikes of the Concha mountain. In addition to all of these factors, Marbella is also home to a thriving community of entrepreneurs and business professionals. This supportive environment provides digital nomads with the resources they need to meet people. Centro House itself has monthly members get togethers and plenty of opportunities to foster contact with like minded entrepreneurs.

Support for Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs in Spain

Location isn’t the only thing that makes Marbella an attractive destination for businesses. Businesses in Spain benefit from a number of government incentives but one we particularly rate is the “Kit Digital”, or a grant to help businesses develop their online capabilities. Businesses can claim up to 12,000 euros worth of support for web design, e-commerce or SEO services.

For those looking to move to Marbella for work, there is  a new Digital Nomad visa that will launch soon and will give tax breaks for remote workers outside of the EU.

Marbella is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations for businesses thanks to its dedication to creating an environment that is conducive to business growth and development. With its convenient location, ample resources, and supportive community, it’s no wonder that so many businesses are choosing to call Marbella home.
